Responsible AI
Updated 15 October 2026 · English
AI can support learning, drafting and feedback. Your own reasoning, a teacher’s judgment and verified sources remain essential.
Development credit and feature providers
FocusED was developed with assistance from OpenAI’s Codex. This is a development credit: it does not mean OpenAI operates, endorses or powers every AI feature in FocusED. The administrator configures the provider used by AI features, and that provider can change.
Check the work
AI answers can contain factual, mathematical or marking errors. Check the method and sources, review generated papers before use, and distinguish original practice from official publisher resources. AI feedback and subjective marks are provisional. A teacher should review final grades, and university or admissions decisions should be made by the responsible people using current official information.
Share thoughtfully
Prompts, answers and included files may be processed by the configured provider. Avoid sharing passwords, identity documents, private conversations or other sensitive data unless you are entitled to share it and understand the provider’s conditions. Age, consent, regional and data-use requirements vary by service. Google’s Gemini terms include restrictions concerning under-18 applications and personal data in unpaid services; check those terms before submitting material. Ask the FocusED team which provider and service tier are active if this affects your use.
Provider information
Review the current OpenAI Usage Policies, OpenAI Services Agreement and OpenAI guidance for under-18 API use when an OpenAI service is involved. For Gemini, read Google’s Gemini API terms. Listing these policies is not a claim that FocusED has been certified or endorsed by either provider.
